离境前登记，保存 TGD1 或登记记录供返程识别。所核现行来源对居民此类贵重品是否一律必须登记表述不一。
南非居民离境携带拟返带的可识别贵重物品，可在离境前向海关以旅客货物申报单（TGD1）登记并保存记录，以备返程证明复运入境。SARS 当前离境网页称旅客须在离境前申报珠宝、手表、相机、摄像机、笔记本电脑等贵重物品，并须附序列号以供返程识别；SC-PA-01-03 第8版 §3(a) 则写南非居民可选择在离境前向海关以 TGD1 登记其可识别贵重物品。强制范围尚未统一核实；本项仅限居民拟返带且可识别的物品，不称每位旅客都须登记所有贵重品。拟返带的暂时出口物品仍须在离境前通过 SATMS 申报，海关可记录序列号或登记号等识别特征。返程时保存的 TGD1 用于识别同一物品。
