依法（2013年第XVIII号法第82条，经2023年第DCXIV号法修正），进入或离开梵蒂冈城邦任一方向携带 10,000 欧元（含）及以上现金，均须向宪兵部队办公室或 ASIF 授权办公室递交书面申报。申报相对过境的准确时点（过境前还是过境时递交）仍未知（见未决注记 VA-cash-declaration-ordinance-and-form-fields-not-captured）。
方向：进入或离开梵蒂冈城邦均可触发（'in entrata o in uscita dallo Stato'）——该义务为双向。任何人（'Chiunque'）跨境运送、即进入或离开该城邦时携带价值 10,000 欧元（含）及以上的现金（denaro contante），必须在宪兵部队（Gendarmeria）办公室或监督与金融信息局（ASIF；2013年原文称'Autorità di Informazione Finanziaria'，现行合并文本称'Autorità di Supervisione e Informazione Finanziaria'）授权的办公室递交书面申报。门槛'pari o superiore a 10.000 euro'含本数：恰为 10,000 欧元即触发义务。申报内容包括：申报人身份资料；现金所有人与接收人的概况；现金金额与性质；来源与去向；所经路线；所用运输工具。所提供资料不准确或不完整的，义务即未满足。罚则（改号后第86条，原第85条）：申报虚假、遗漏或不完整的，持有人须更正或补全申报，并被处超出 10,000 欧元限额部分金额 10%至40%的行政罚款；宪兵部队可在指控违规时扣押超额部分至多 40%的款项作为担保。范围说明：这是梵蒂冈城邦关于随身跨境携带现金的本国法律，不是意大利或欧盟海关规则；邮寄或商业渠道的义务不在本记录范围内。
