離境前登記，保存 TGD1 或登記記錄供返程識別。所核現行來源對居民此類貴重品是否一律必須登記表述不一。
南非居民離境攜帶擬返帶的可識別貴重物品，可在離境前向海關以旅客貨物申報單（TGD1）登記並保存記錄，以備返程證明覆運入境。SARS 當前離境網頁稱旅客須在離境前申報珠寶、手錶、相機、攝像機、筆電電腦等貴重物品，並須附序列號以供返程識別；SC-PA-01-03 第8版 §3(a) 則寫南非居民可選擇在離境前向海關以 TGD1 登記其可識別貴重物品。強制範圍尚未統一核實；本項僅限居民擬返帶且可識別的物品，不稱每位旅客都須登記所有貴重品。擬返帶的暫時出口物品仍須在離境前通過 SATMS 申報，海關可記錄序列號或登記號等識別特徵。返程時保存的 TGD1 用於識別同一物品。
