依法（2013年第XVIII號法第82條，經2023年第DCXIV號法修正），進入或離開梵蒂岡城邦任一方向攜帶 10,000 歐元（含）及以上現金，均須向憲兵部隊辦公室或 ASIF 授權辦公室遞交書面申報。申報相對過境的準確時點（過境前還是過境時遞交）仍未知（見未決註記 VA-cash-declaration-ordinance-and-form-fields-not-captured）。
方向：進入或離開梵蒂岡城邦均可觸發（'in entrata o in uscita dallo Stato'）——該義務為雙向。任何人（'Chiunque'）跨境運送、即進入或離開該城邦時攜帶價值 10,000 歐元（含）及以上的現金（denaro contante），必須在憲兵部隊（Gendarmeria）辦公室或監督與金融資訊局（ASIF；2013年原文稱'Autorità di Informazione Finanziaria'，現行合併文本稱'Autorità di Supervisione e Informazione Finanziaria'）授權的辦公室遞交書面申報。門檻'pari o superiore a 10.000 euro'含本數：恰為 10,000 歐元即觸發義務。申報內容包括：申報人身份資料；現金所有人與接收人的概況；現金金額與性質；來源與去向；所經路線；所用運輸工具。所提供資料不準確或不完整的，義務即未滿足。罰則（改號後第86條，原第85條）：申報虛假、遺漏或不完整的，持有人須更正或補全申報，並被處超出 10,000 歐元限額部分金額 10%至40%的行政罰款；憲兵部隊可在指控違規時扣押超額部分至多 40%的款項作為擔保。範圍說明：這是梵蒂岡城邦關於隨身跨境攜帶現金的本國法律，不是意大利或歐盟海關規則；郵寄或商業渠道的義務不在本記錄範圍內。
