Turkey e-Visa: Check Whether You Need One Before Paying (2026)

Many ordinary passports are visa-exempt for 90 days in any 180. Check first, then use only evisa.gov.tr if you still need an e-Visa.

You may not need an e-Visa at all

Ordinary passport holders from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia are currently visa-exempt for tourist visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Ordinary People’s Republic of China passport holders have the same exemption from January 2, 2026.

Many other passports are exempt, including examples from the EU, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, and Malaysia. That sentence is not a complete list. Passport type and allowed stay can differ, so find the exact entry on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs page.

If the MFA page says your passport is visa-exempt for this trip, stop. You do not need an e-Visa or a separate arrival form. The correct cost is zero.

If your passport still needs an e-Visa

Use the government application site only after the exemption check.

The official flow asks for nationality or region of the travel document, document type, and planned arrival date first. Those answers determine whether the route is visa-exempt, directly eligible for an e-Visa, conditionally eligible, or not eligible for this online visa.

An e-Visa is a travel authorization, not a general entry card. Each traveller needs the result that matches the passport used at the border.

How much is the Turkey e-Visa?

There is no single price that is accurate for every passport. The fee varies by passport, and the official system shows the live amount only after the eligibility choices are made.

Do not copy a price from a blog, an old screenshot, or another traveller’s receipt. A visa-exempt passport has no e-Visa fee because no e-Visa is required. An eligible passport can receive a different official quote based on the current rules.

Conditional e-Visa eligibility

Some nationalities, including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines, may obtain a 30-day single-entry e-Visa only when the official result says they meet added conditions.

One common condition is holding a valid Schengen, US, UK, or Ireland visa or residence permit. That document alone does not guarantee eligibility. Read every condition on the live result, including any carrier, return-ticket, accommodation, or funds requirement displayed for the passport.

If you cannot meet a listed condition, do not pay a commercial site to bypass it. The middleman cannot change the Ministry’s eligibility decision.

What the application asks

The 18 documented fields cover:

  • nationality, travel-document type, and arrival date;
  • given names, surname, birth details, and parents’ names;
  • travel-document number, issue date, and expiry date;
  • email, phone number, and residence address;
  • supporting-document type, issuer, and expiry date when conditional eligibility applies.

The local checker below uses the rules in data/rules/turkey.json. It runs in your browser and does not send the values to us. It cannot decide visa eligibility or quote a fee.

Tool · Pre-check your fields

Before you paste anything into the official site

Type your details below. We never send them anywhere. This runs 100% in your browser. View source to verify.

Enter the planned first arrival date. The e-Visa validity period begins from the date selected in the official application.
Match the passport date. This local checker uses YYYY-MM-DD; the official transfer guide uses YYYYMMDD.
Use a lowercase email address you control. The payment link and e-Visa download link are sent by email. The official group guide sets a 40-character maximum.
Enter all names when requested. The official group guide allows this field to be blank when the father's name is not indicated and sets a 40-character maximum.
Enter every given name as shown in the passport. The official group guide sets a 50-character maximum including spaces.
Enter the applicant's current residence address. The official group guide sets a 200-character maximum including spaces.
Enter all names when requested. The official group guide allows this field to be blank when the mother's name is not indicated and sets a 40-character maximum.
Choose the nationality or region of the passport you will carry. The official system uses this answer to check exemption, eligibility, conditions, and price.
Match the document expiry date. Türkiye generally requires validity at least 60 days beyond the permitted stay, and the official eligibility result can impose more.
Match the issue date on the travel document. This local checker uses YYYY-MM-DD.
Copy the number exactly from the travel document selected earlier. The official group guide disallows spaces and special characters and sets a 16-character maximum.
Include the country or region code. The official group guide sets a 20-character display maximum; this local checker accepts an international number with 7-15 digits.
Copy the place of birth from the passport. The official group guide sets a 40-character maximum including spaces.
Enter the expiry date when the supporting document has one. It must remain valid under the conditions shown by the official e-Visa system.
Select the country or area that issued the supporting visa or residence permit. Current MFA country rules commonly refer to Schengen, the United States, the United Kingdom, or Ireland, but follow the exact eligibility screen.
Complete this only when the official eligibility result requires a valid visa or residence permit as support. An e-Visa is not available if you do not meet the stated condition.
Enter the surname exactly as shown in the passport. Leave it blank only when the passport has no surname. The official group guide sets a 50-character maximum.
Choose the exact document type, usually Ordinary Passport. Diplomatic, service, special, official, and other documents can have different rules.

After payment

Use an email address you control. The official system sends the payment and download links there. Save the application reference, receipt, and issued PDF. Carry the e-Visa as a digital or printed copy with the same passport used in the application.

Before paying, check the address bar one more time. The government host is exactly evisa.gov.tr, ending in .gov.tr.
