Panama Digital Sworn Traveler Declaration (2026)

A customs declaration, not a visa

The Digital Sworn Traveler Declaration reports goods and values to Panama Customs when entering or leaving the country. It does not grant a visa or replace passport and immigration checks.

The official portal offers Spanish and English. Filing is free, and Panama also permits a manual declaration.

Family and signature rules

One declaration can cover members of the same family group. The responsible adult enters the declaring traveller’s identity and the people covered by that declaration.

For the digital route, the traveller takes a photograph. The official rule says this replaces the handwritten signature.

The 72-hour rule

Panama’s customs process sets a 72-hour period for the digital declaration before arrival and requires presentation within the corresponding window. Use the current itinerary and do not submit stale trip details.

QR and inspection

After submission, save the QR response code. Present it to customs. A QR does not prevent inspection, so all goods and values must still be declared truthfully.
