Check the route before applying

The current DGI&P page separates three cases:

• Citizens of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar and Bahrain covered by the tourism and business exemption need no ETA or visa.
• Citizens of the 120 countries currently listed for Visa Prior to Arrival can choose the VPA tourism route.
• Other travellers use the applicable regular online visa or mission route.

Eligibility can change. Check the official page again with the passport in hand.

VPA fee and processing

The linked Ministry of Foreign Affairs notice is addressed to Tunisian and Maltese nationals and says their VPA is free and processed within 24 hours. This guide does not turn that nationality-specific statement into a universal promise. Apply early and do not board until the Visa Grant Notice arrives.

Regular online visas are different. DGI&P says their fees are reciprocal, so the amount depends on passport and category.

Use the correct portal category

Open visa.nadra.gov.pk, sign in through the official system, then choose Visa Prior to Arrival and Tourism when the passport qualifies. The same portal also contains regular visa products, so the domain alone does not prove that the selected route is free.

Prepare the passport information, the requested passport document, a live photograph and a reachable account email. Follow the current screen for upload requirements; no public file-size or text regex is claimed here.

After approval

Download the Visa Grant Notice. Keep an offline copy and travel on the passport used in the application.

Read the notice itself for validity, entries and permitted stay. A 90-day validity statement on a nationality-specific notice is not treated here as a universal 90-day stay allowance.
