Oman eVisa · field guide · varies

The fields where people get the official eVisa wrong, in form order.

The public eligibility wizard and FAQ show the decision questions, document conditions and upload limit. The actual application requires login, and its live regexes, later field limits and error text were not readable, so this guide makes no pattern or official-error claims.

§ Fields, in order

9 fields, 3 sections, varies total.

All sections Showing 9 of 9
Section 1 · Need
01

14-day visa-exemption status

Check the Foreign Ministry's current two lists. First-group visitors use the exemption directly. Second-group visitors need the extra qualifying visa or residence status listed on the page. GCC citizens need no visa.

02

Nationality as shown in passport

Choose the nationality printed in the passport. The wizard uses it to decide which unsponsored visas, if any, are available.

03

GCC residence status

Answer whether you currently reside in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the UAE. If yes, select the country shown on the residence permit.

04

Eligible visa subtype

Use only a subtype shown in your result. The same result page supplies its fee, stay duration and conditions.

Section 2 · Files
05

Passport validity

Check the expiry date before starting. The FAQ says a normal passport should be valid for at least 6 months before entering Oman.

06

Passport file

Prepare a readable passport file no larger than 512 KB. Compress carefully so the name, number and dates remain legible.

07

Personal photo file

Keep the picture upload at or below 512 KB. The public FAQ does not expose a pixel size or regex, so this guide does not invent one.

Section 3 · Submit
08

Registered email

Use an inbox you control and check the spelling. The ROP sends the payment receipt and application copy there, and emails the electronic visa if approved.

09

Application timing

Lodge at least 4 days before arrival. This is a recommendation, not a guaranteed maximum processing time; some applications take longer.

§ After submit

What happens between hitting submit and getting through immigration.

  1. 01

    Confirmation screen

The official site shows a confirmation on screen. Screenshot it — that's your backup.

  2. 02

    Decision arrives by email

After payment and submission, the ROP sends the approved electronic visa to the registered email. Payment does not guarantee approval.

  3. 03

    At immigration

If approved, the Royal Oman Police sends the electronic visa to the registered email. Keep the PDF and payment receipt with the application passport.

  4. 04

    Keep the eVisa PDF

The FAQ explains how to generate the visa PDF again from the account. Keep a copy available for airline and border checks.

  5. 05

    Use the selected visa conditions

The eligibility result supplies the permitted stay and conditions for the exact visa subtype. Do not substitute another traveller's result.

The public wizard exposes the eligibility questions and the FAQ publishes several document conditions. The actual application is login-gated, so later validation attributes and error text were not readable. This guide does not invent them.

1. Check the current exemption

Find the passport in the current first or second group and read every condition. The 14-day route has no visa form. GCC citizens also need no visa.

2. Select passport nationality

Use the nationality printed in the travel document, not the country of residence.

3. Answer the GCC-residence question

Answer yes only if you currently hold residence in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Then choose the country shown on the residence permit.

4. Use only an offered visa subtype

The result page supplies the eligible products, fee, stay duration and conditions. Choose from that result, not from a blog or another traveller’s screenshot.

5. Check passport validity

The ROP FAQ says a normal passport should have at least 6 months of validity before entry.

6. Prepare the passport file

Keep the file at or below 512 KB and make sure every character remains readable after compression.

7. Prepare the picture file

The same 512 KB limit applies to the picture. The public FAQ does not publish a pixel size or regex, so this guide does not claim one.

8. Use an email you control

The ROP sends the application copy and payment receipt to the registered email. If approved, the electronic visa also arrives there.

9. Apply early enough

Lodge at least 4 days before arrival. The official wording is a recommendation and says processing can vary, so leave extra time.
