Oman eVisa: Check the 14-Day Exemption Before Applying (2026)

You may not need an eVisa

Start with the Foreign Ministry’s current page, updated in January 2026.

It lists more than 100 countries and regions in two groups for stays up to 14 days:

• first-group passports can use the exemption when the published trip conditions are met;
• second-group passports also need a qualifying visa or residence status described on the page;
• citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE do not need a visa.

The 14-day exemption cannot be extended or converted into a residence visa. It also requires a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return ticket, confirmed hotel booking, health insurance and enough money for the stay.

If this route covers the trip, do not submit or pay for an eVisa.

Use the eligibility wizard next

The Royal Oman Police asks for passport nationality and whether the applicant resides in a GCC country. Its result supplies:

• eligible visa subtypes;
• fee details;
• permitted stay;
• conditions for the selected route.

Do not copy a price or duration from another passport. If the wizard does not offer an unsponsored visa, the answer is not to choose a different nationality.

Official application

Tourist applicants register or log in before starting. The portal is run by the Royal Oman Police. The FAQ lists unsponsored tourist, sponsored tourist, GCC-resident tourist and express visas, so the product and charge depend on the traveller’s result.

Timing and validity

The ROP recommends lodging at least 4 days before arrival and says processing times vary. It does not promise approval within 4 days.

For an unsponsored visa, the FAQ says it is valid for use for one month after issue. That is the window to enter, not a universal stay length. Read the stay duration shown for the exact subtype.

Files and delivery

The normal passport should be valid for at least 6 months before entry. The FAQ caps both passport and picture files at 512 KB.

After successful payment and submission, an approved electronic visa is sent to the registered email. Payment does not guarantee approval.
