Nigeria Landing & Exit Card: Official NIS Portal, Free Filing

Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) operates the Landing & Exit Card service at lecard.immigration.gov.ng. The card service is free. It is separate from a visa application and does not replace any visa required for your trip.
The NIS homepage dates the launch to 1 May 2025. Choose Arrival for entry or Departure for leaving Nigeria. Do not assume one arrival card completes both journeys.
The dedicated portal FAQ says foreign travellers visiting or departing Nigeria must use the service. Its scope includes visits, business and temporary stays. NIS’s general introduction uses the broader phrase “all passengers”. If you travel on a Nigerian passport, hold dual nationality or have diplomatic, residence or another special status, ask NIS which procedure applies; this guide does not assign an unsupported exemption.
Visa-free or ECOWAS status does not by itself establish a card exemption. There is also no basis here to treat children as exempt. The FAQ requires each traveller’s details separately; do not combine a family into one card.
The dedicated FAQ excludes pure transit from this portal. A connecting ticket alone does not prove you qualify: if you need to enter Nigeria during the connection, confirm the procedure for that entry with NIS.
The federal announcement says to complete the digital card before boarding. Have the appropriate card ready before entry or departure inspection. This guide does not give a fixed advance-hour window or infer one from visa-processing times.
The same announcement confirms the digital cards are free for foreign travellers. That does not make a visa or another travel service free.
The current arrival and departure application links lead to the login page. Follow the official login or registration instructions. Prepare your passport name, document details, applicable visa number, date of birth, nationality, email and phone contact.
This guide has not inspected the application screens after login. Follow the questions shown for your category; do not treat public account fields as the entire declaration. See eight preparation items for what can be prepared from official public guidance.
NIS says successful processing produces a confirmation email and a downloadable card. Download and print the Landing Card or Exit confirmation for checkpoints. The FAQ describes instant processing when valid details and requirements are met, not a guarantee that every problem case will finish immediately.
Submitted details cannot be directly updated. If you made an error, the FAQ says to resubmit with correct information. Use official support if the issue remains; do not look for an edit function this guide has not verified.
For a lost card, use the email copy to reprint it or open Get Card. The retrieval page asks for passport number, issuing country and date of birth. Those retrieval inputs are not proof of the complete application fields, and a passport number alone does not replace the printed card.
This independent guide is not affiliated with NIS. Account registration, card submission and email delivery have not been tested for this guide.
If you still need coverage for the trip, these links support entrycardguide without changing the price you pay.
