These eight preparation items are grouped into four guide sections. They are not a count of all official fields or steps. The examples help compare your documents and choices; they do not establish government input errors or guarantee acceptance. This page has no local pre-check.
1. Choose arrival or departure
Choose the service for the journey: Arrival to enter Nigeria, Departure to leave. The current application links lead to Login. Use the official registration option if needed; do not enter government account credentials on this guide site.
Complete the card before boarding and before the relevant border checks. The official public sources reviewed do not establish a fixed advance-hour window for this guide. Check who uses the card before assuming citizenship, transit or visa status exempts you.

2. Prepare your travel documents
Copy your full name and document number from the passport used for the trip. The public account page separates first, middle and last names and asks for the passport name. Do not invent a middle name or change name punctuation without official instructions.
Have a visa number ready where your actual category requires it. Public guidance says visa or passport number; that does not mean every traveller must supply both. Visa-free and ECOWAS travellers should follow their category rather than inventing a visa number.

3. Check personal details
Match date of birth and nationality to your travel document. Do not confuse birth date with passport issuance or nationality with residence. Use the date control presented in your application; this guide does not impose a typed date format across unknown screens.
The application after login has not been inspected field by field. No flight, accommodation or stay-length screen is presented here as verified. Follow the questions that the official application actually displays.
Use an email inbox you can open while travelling and your current phone contact. NIS says successful confirmation and a downloadable card arrive by email. This guide has not verified phone-number length, prefix restrictions or whether every branch makes the same contact fields mandatory.
Review, submit and print
Review each traveller’s information individually before submitting. The FAQ says submitted information cannot be updated; if you find an error, resubmit with correct details and contact official support if needed. Family travellers cannot rely on one combined card.
After successful processing, follow the portal’s instruction to download and print the Landing Card or Exit confirmation for checkpoints. Keep the confirmation email as well. An earlier arrival card does not complete a later departure filing. This guide has not tested submission or delivery.

Recovering a missing card
Use the copy in your email to reprint it, or open Get Card. This separate retrieval page asks for:
- Passport Number;
- Country of Issuance;
- Date of Birth, using its date control.
These are retrieval questions, not a verified inventory of the main application. Retrieve the actual card and print it; a passport number alone is not the checkpoint document.
