Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) runs the free Landing & Exit Card portal, launched on 1 May 2025. Choose the relevant arrival or departure service; an arrival card does not automatically cover leaving Nigeria. The card does not replace a required visa.
Details to prepare: eight selected items, the login entry and recovering a card.
Before you travel
Who: the dedicated portal FAQ addresses foreign travellers. NIS’s general introduction says all passengers; Nigerian citizens, dual nationals and special-status travellers should confirm their case with NIS.
Transit: the portal excludes pure transit. A connection requiring entry is not automatically exempt.
When: complete the card before boarding and before the relevant border inspection. This guide does not state a fixed advance-hour window.
Cost: the card is free; visa and other travel fees are separate.
What to keep: download and print the card or exit confirmation, and retain the email.
Affiliate disclosure: if you buy through one of these links, we may earn a commission. We never accept money from visa middlemen, form-filing services, or companies that compete with the official government forms we point to.
