Nepal Visa on Arrival: Official Online Form, Fees and Gratis Rules (2026)

Most eligible tourists can obtain a visa on arrival and complete the online form before travel. The form saves time but does not itself issue the visa.
Indian citizens do not need a visa. Nationals of Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan cannot use visa on arrival under the current TIA list. Travel-document holders also need an advance route.
NepaliPort separately offers Electronic Travel Authorization and applications through a Nepalese mission. Use one of those advance routes when visa on arrival is unavailable or unsuitable.
Fees and gratis categories
The standard on-arrival tiers are:
- 15 days: USD 30;
- 30 days: USD 50;
- 90 days: USD 125.
The Department lists gratis categories including children below 10, qualifying SAARC citizens on a first visit in the visa year, NRN card holders and Chinese nationals. Each category has its own conditions. Indian citizens are visa-exempt rather than gratis-visa applicants.

The Beijing embassy confirms that Chinese nationals pay no Tourist Visa fee and may obtain the visa on arrival at authorised entry points.
What the online form does
Select the entry point, passport-issuing country and Tourist Visa, then enter the passport number and date of birth. Continue with the identity, photo, address, contact and duration details.
After submission, save or print the barcode receipt. It remains valid for 15 days. Pay through the current official payment route or at the bank counter, then present the online form, payment receipt and passport to the immigration officer.
Passport and timing
The Nepal Embassy in Beijing says the passport should have more than 6 months of validity for processing. The Department’s payment guide estimates about 5 minutes to fill the online application, but queue and border-processing time vary.
