Nepal Tourist Visa · field guide · about 5 minutes

The fields where people get the official Tourist Visa wrong, in form order.

The public on-arrival screen and official guidance expose the field labels, required preparation and 15-day receipt window. The later live form does not publish readable text-field regexes, character limits or official validation error strings. No invented pattern is used and no local validator is mounted.

§ Fields, in order

10 fields, 3 sections, about 5 minutes total.

All sections Showing 10 of 10
Section 1 · Route and eligibility
01

Visa route and on-arrival eligibility

Check the route before filling. Indian citizens need no visa. Most eligible tourists use visa on arrival; the twelve restricted nationalities and travel-document holders need an advance route.

02

Entry point

Choose the airport or land office where you will actually enter. The immigration officer at that port issues the visa.

03

Passport-issuing country

Select the passport-issuing country. Chinese nationals currently receive a gratis Tourist Visa; other exemptions have their own conditions.

Section 2 · Passport and identity
04

Passport number

Enter the number from the passport you will show at the immigration desk.

05

Date of birth (AD)

Use the official day, month and year controls and enter the Gregorian date shown in the passport.

06

Full name

Copy the full name from the same passport. Do not shorten it to a booking nickname.

07

Passport validity

The Nepal Embassy in Beijing says more than six months of passport validity is required for processing. Renew first if the document is close to expiry.

08

Recent digital photograph

Prepare a recent passport-size digital photograph before opening the form. No verified public pixel or file-size limit is claimed here.

Section 3 · Stay and contact
09

Permanent address and address in Nepal

Prepare the permanent home address and the full hotel or local address in Nepal.

10

Contact details and visa duration

Give reachable phone and email details. Select 15, 30 or 90 days before payment, then save the barcode receipt; it remains valid for 15 days.

§ After submit

What happens between hitting submit and getting through immigration.

  1. 01

    Confirmation screen

The official site shows a confirmation on screen. Screenshot it — that's your backup.

  2. 02

    Keep the barcode receipt

The submitted online form remains in the system for 15 days. Save the barcode receipt before closing the page.

  3. 03

    At immigration

Save or print the barcode submission receipt. At the port, present it with the payment receipt and passport; the immigration officer issues the Tourist Visa there.

  4. 04

Print the form and payment receipt

The Department tells on-arrival applicants to present the online form, payment receipt and passport at the immigration desk.

  5. 05

The visa is issued at the port

The online form is a pre-fill and receipt, not the visa itself. Final issuance remains with the immigration officer.

The public screen and official guidance show the field labels and preparation items. They do not expose readable text-field regexes, character limits or official validation errors. This guide invents none and mounts no local validator.
