The FAQ separates Tourist and Business eVisas. It lists 100 Tourist nationalities and 54 Business nationalities. Eligibility for one route does not prove eligibility for the other.

Tourist eVisa is for a holiday. Business applicants need an invitation, a Requisition Letter and company records. Religious visits must use a Myanmar embassy or consulate.

The official January 2025 guide shows USD 50 in the Tourist payment acknowledgement. Treat that as the published guide price and confirm the current amount on Step 5.

The portal accepts Visa, MasterCard and JCB. Payment can take 5 to 15 minutes. If the page crashes or turns blank, check the request list for payment status before trying again. The fee is non-refundable, and details cannot be changed after payment.

Documents for a Tourist application

Prepare:

  • a recent passport-sized digital photograph;
  • a scan of the passport bio-data page;
  • a hotel booking;
  • a return ticket from Myanmar;
  • boat-ticket and trip-plan evidence instead if entering at Kawthaung.

The guide accepts JPG or PDF uploads up to 2 MB each. The passport should have at least 6 months remaining. Enter the full name from the passport MRZ using English characters.

Timing, stay and entry

Normal processing takes at least 3 working days. The Approval Letter is valid for 90 days from issue. Print one copy and carry the same passport used in the application.

The Tourist eVisa is single entry and permits a 28-day stay. It cannot be extended.

The current entry points are:

  1. Yangon International Airport;
  2. Mandalay International Airport;
  3. Nay Pyi Taw International Airport;
