The fast facts
- Official URL:
imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main— the.gov.mysuffix is restricted to Malaysian government entities. - Cost: free. Always free.
- When to file: within 3 days before your arrival in Malaysia.
- Who is exempt: Singaporean citizens, Malaysians returning home, Brunei and Thailand passport holders entering by land, certain diplomatic passport holders, and transit-only passengers who do not clear immigration. Everyone else must file.
- What you need: passport (valid 6+ months past arrival), flight details, Malaysia address, email, about 7 minutes.
- What you get: a confirmation email. You do not strictly need to show a QR on arrival; the system is checked by passport. But keeping the email is smart.
