Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)
Direction: travellers arriving in Zambia with accompanied baggage. Per the ZRA 'Importation of Goods' page captured live 2026-09-26. Traveller's allowances: a traveler is entitled to import goods worth USD 1,000 duty free, and any excess as long as the taxes are below K10; the goods must not be for commercial purposes or belong to any person who is not a traveler, and rebates do not apply to gifts bought for family or friends. A traveler at least 18 years old is additionally entitled to import duty free the following quantities of excisable goods: 2.5 litres of clear beer; 0.5 kg of tobacco or 0.5 kg of cigars or 400 sticks of cigarettes; 2.5 litres of wine; 1.5 litres of spirits. Traveller's goods not covered by the allowances are declared and cleared as follows: the traveler completes declaration Form CE6 and presents it to customs together with any other supporting documents; customs assess the duty payable after physically checking the goods; payment is made and a receipt is issued. Consignment bands on the same page: small-value consignments (CIF value more than USD 1,000 but not exceeding USD 2,000) need no clearing agent and are liable to duties and taxes; large-value consignments above USD 2,000 require a clearing agent and electronic declaration. Scope note: the captured page does not mention Regulation 22 of the Customs and Excise (General) Regulations, a USD 5,000 threshold, or red/green channels — earlier claims on those points have been removed from this record.
