Applies to passengers entering El Salvador through the customs of San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport (Boletín DGA 040-2026 scope; land borders, seaports and other airports are not covered — see unresolved sv-other-ports-declaration). The channel is conditional, chosen per the traveller's situation: on arrival the traveller selects a circuit. "No Declara": only baggage, or goods qualifying for the exemptions of the Ley de Equipajes de Viajeros Procedentes del Exterior and not prohibited/restricted; customs staff generate the Boleta Electrónica de Equipaje. "Declara": mandatory for non-baggage goods exceeding USD 1,000.00 (this USD 1,000 figure is the channel-selection trigger stated in the bulletin, NOT a duty-free allowance — the USD 500 figures on the legacy 2024 service page belong to the baggage-law exemption regime and must not be conflated with this trigger) and for live animals and firearms; the bulletin's channel description ALSO lists "money and other assets" in the Declara enumeration, but that listing carries no amount — the only express money-declaration duty the bulletin states is the USD 15,000.00-or-more threshold at entry or exit (see below), so for money below USD 15,000.00 the bulletin does not say which channel applies, and neither "must use Declara" nor "must use No Declara" is asserted here (see unresolved sv-below-threshold-cash-channel). Submission is (a) online via the Aduana360 mobile app, option "Declaración de Viaje", with the request filed up to 72 hours before travel, or (b) in person at the customs module by telling authorised staff. Cash and goods at airport entry are handled in this single Declara submission; the bulletin establishes no separate money form for entry. The money obligation is bidirectional: the traveller must declare at entry OR exit when carrying cash, monetary instruments, securities or a combination valued at USD 15,000.00 or more (or foreign-currency equivalent); the exit-side obligation is confirmed, but the bulletin does not state the exit submission vehicle — treat it as unconfirmed (sv-exit-cash-vehicle). Delayed (rezagado) and unaccompanied baggage must be declared at entry with the airline receipt; the boleta is issued digitally or physically. The passport is always validated through the electronic declaration; one adult may represent a family group. No fee is stated by the bulletin (recorded as unknown, see sv-fee-current).
