When to apply

Paper channel: deliver the completed accompanied-transfer form to the Comando or detached station of the Forza di Polizia nearest the crossed border. Electronic channel (equivalent alternative offered on the same page): file on www.ttc.sm before crossing the border and carry the telematic registration number with you. DD141 original (2026-09-29): the allegato 1 declaration is either transmitted telematically before crossing — the carrier then keeps a paper or electronic copy with the registration number — or delivered in writing to the Comando or detached station of the Forza di Polizia nearest the crossed or intended border point, which releases a copy bearing the office's attestation of receipt ("copia con attestazione di ricevimento da parte dell'ufficio" — an office receipt attestation, not a countersignature), and the carrier must carry that copy with them ("tale copia deve essere portata al seguito dal portatore"). Unaccompanied transfers ≥€10,000 require the sender's allegato 2 information at the latest at dispatch.

Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)

A natural person entering or leaving the territory of the Republic of San Marino who carries "denaro contante" with a total value equal to or above EUR 10,000 must declare it as an accompanied transfer ("pari o superiore a 10.000 euro" — the threshold includes exactly EUR 10,000). "Denaro contante" covers banknotes and coins in circulation (or exchangeable for circulating currency); bearer-negotiable instruments (traveller's cheques; bearer cheques, bills of exchange and payment orders); gold coins with at least 90% gold content and gold bars, nuggets or aggregates with at least 99.5% gold; and non-named prepaid cards not linked to a bank account. The duty applies even if the traveller is not stopped by a police officer. Cash moved by post, courier, aircraft or other cargo follows the separate unaccompanied ("Non Accompagnato") declaration and is out of scope here.
