Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)
The eTravel FAQ (re-read in full 2026-09-27) requires registration by: arriving Filipino and foreign passengers; arriving Filipino and foreign crewmembers; and departing Filipino passengers — departing foreign passengers are not listed among the required categories. Exempt: foreign diplomats and dependants, foreign dignitaries and members of their delegations, 9(e) visa holders, and holders of diplomatic and official/service passports. eTravel is the government's single digital data-collection platform for passengers arriving in and departing from the Philippines, used for border control, health surveillance and economic data analysis; it is web-based (no app or download required, mobile-responsive) and registration/updating is free, with no online payment collected. Register “within 72 hours (3 days) prior to your arrival into or departure from the Philippines”; take a screenshot or print the QR code and show it to the airline representative before boarding — a green QR code proceeds directly to immigration inspection, a red QR code requires Bureau of Quarantine review first. Currency (per BOC advisory of 2 March 2026, verified 2026-09-12, not re-fetched this round): customs accepts currency declarations through eTravel before travel or at designated counters at airports/seaports; foreign currency above USD 10,000 equivalent must be declared in full on entry and exit; Philippine currency above PHP 50,000 requires declaration and prior written BSP authority, requested before departure from the country of origin, with permitted purposes limited to numismatics, currency awareness and currency-machine testing/calibration/configuration. The FAQ covers no baggage duty-free allowances or goods-declaration fields; see unresolved item PH-baggage.
