When to apply

Goods: on arrival into Namibia, form presented to NamRA Customs officials at the point of entry. Cash: on arrival and, per the NamRA traveller guide, also when leaving Namibia; Section D applies from the equivalent of N$100,000.00 or more (inclusive of the exact amount, aggregating traveller and family).

Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)

Form issued for arrival and departure use. Goods: travellers entering Namibia declare all goods acquired abroad; goods beyond duty-free allowances are declared on this form to NamRA Customs officials on entry, at correct values — failure risks detention or seizure of goods, criminal prosecution or severe penalties (Customs and Excise Act 20 of 1998). Every person travelling together (family) makes an individual declaration; parents/guardians assist minors. Cash: Section D is completed where currency and/or bearer negotiable instruments equivalent to N$100,000.00 or more (inclusive, traveller plus family aggregated) are carried, stating Namibia Dollar value, other currencies, other bearer negotiable instruments (travellers' and personal cheques, money orders, bonds), amounts and source of funds. The NamRA traveller guide separately requires declaration of cash/bearer negotiable instruments/foreign currency in one's possession both on arrival into and when leaving Namibia — broader than the form's Section D N$100,000 threshold; the operative channel below N$100,000 is unverified (unknown).
