The electronic form is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and is completed before the flight's arrival (SAT DJRV page; guide p.10); it is valid only on the travel date consigned, otherwise a new declaration with an updated travel date must be filed (guide p.10; customs FAQ). How early it may be filed is disputed between current official texts: the 2025 guide says up to three days before the flight (p.3) and “con tres días de anticipación” (p.13), while the current SAT customs FAQ answers 15 days (noting airlines usually provide the flight number 3 days before travel). No single official window is published; see unresolved gt-advance-window.
Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)
Regional traveler sworn declaration filed electronically with SAT. All travelers entering or leaving Guatemala by air or sea must file it, nationals and foreign travelers alike (SAT customs FAQ); the 2025 SAT guide (p.3) likewise states that all travelers using air or sea means, as applicable, must file when entering or leaving the country. One declaration covers spouses and their minor children; adult children must each file their own (customs FAQ; guide p.13). The form is completed online from any internet-connected device before travel or arrival as directed by SAT, and the traveler or head of family keeps the declaration number/QR code to present to the authorities (guide p.10). A paper form remains only as a contingency when SAT computer systems are unavailable (customs FAQ). Filing is free of charge: the 2025 SAT guide (p.3) says the electronic DJRV is filled “sin costo” (at no cost), while any duties or taxes on goods other than traveler's baggage, where applicable, are payable separately (guide p.11). Land-border crossings are not addressed in the captured official text (see unresolved gt-land-scope).
