At entry or departure, as applicable.
Who it applies to, exceptions and limits (full text)
The 2024 Customs Manual (as retrieved 2026-09-12) requires tourists to declare dutiable goods and provides temporary import/re-export treatment for personal effects. Its currency provisions (sections 16.10-16.11), as read then, required declaration of foreign exchange exceeding USD10,000 at entry and Royal Monetary Authority clearance for departure above USD10,000, with 'exceeding ... or more' wording that leaves exactly USD10,000 undetermined. Those currency statements are 2024 manual text only, not a confirmation of the 2026 rule: whether the declaration threshold and the clearance requirement currently apply remains unresolved (BT-2026-fx-regs).
