Bangladesh Bank FE Circular 08 of 11 February 2020 and its amended FMJ form allow incoming passengers to bring up to USD 10,000 equivalent without declaration. Any larger amount may be brought in with FMJ declaration. A foreigner may take out the declared imported amount, or up to USD 10,000 imported without declaration. A Bangladeshi may retain and re-export up to USD 10,000 imported without declaration; resident Bangladeshis must encash or deposit amounts over USD 10,000 within 30 days of arrival, while non-residents may do so at any time after return.
