Jordan Jordan Pass · field guide · ~10 minutes

The fields where people get the official Jordan Pass wrong, in form order.

The live purchase form publishes maxlengths (100 on the name and both email fields, 150 on the telephone, 250 on the address), one email regex inside its validator script, dropdown-only choices for purpose, accommodation, city, nights, airline, travel party, month and ticket type, and real error strings such as Full name required and Nights is required. This page documents exactly those values and mounts no local validator, because most of the form is dropdown-based.

§ Fields, in order

17 fields, 4 sections, ~10 minutes total.

All sections Showing 17 of 17
Section 1 · Route and pass conditions
01

Passport eligibility

Check the passport first. The Interior Ministry lists 53 restricted nationalities that need prior approval, the FAQ lists South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Vatican City as exempt from visa fees, and arriving at Aqaba Airport is a separate rule for non-restricted nationalities. Do all of this before paying for anything.

02

Purchase timing

Buy the pass before you enter Jordan. A purchase made after arrival still gets you into the sites, but the JD 40 visa fee is no longer waived.

03

Minimum stay for the visa waiver

The waiver needs a minimum of 2 whole nights (3 days). The FAQ says you do not have to prove it in advance: the immigration system checks the nights when you leave, and short stays are sent to an office to pay.

04

Which visa fee is waived

The pass waives the single-entry visa fee only. The Tourism Ministry prices that visa at JD 40 for one month on arrival at the airport, while JD 60 double-entry and JD 120 multiple-entry visas come from an embassy and are not covered.

Section 2 · Buyer details
05

Your Name

Copy the name from the passport you will present at the border. The field allows 100 characters and the form shows Full name required when it is empty.

max 100
06

Your Email Address

Use an inbox you can open on the road. The field allows 100 characters, and the page validator rejects a malformed address with Not Valid Email. The FAQ says to check the spam folder if nothing arrives.

^([\w\.\-]+)@([\w\.\-]+)((\.(\w){2,4})+)$ max 100
07

Re-enter Email Address

Type the same address twice. A mismatch stops the purchase, and a wrong but matching pair sends your pass to someone else's inbox.

max 100
08

Telephone

Enter a number that can receive a call while you are travelling, with the country code. The field allows 150 characters.

max 150
Section 3 · Trip details
09

What is the main purpose of your visit?

Choose the option that matches the trip. The dropdown includes Medical treatment, Wellness Spa, Walking Hiking Biking, Business, Religious, Experiencing local culture, Visit historical sites and Extreme Adventure.

10

What type of accommodation are you staying at?

Pick the accommodation type you actually booked. Options run from 5 Star Hotel down to 1 Star Hotel, plus Airbnb and hotel or serviced apartments.

11

City of Stay

Choose the governorate where you will stay. The list covers Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Balqa, Mafraq, Karak, Tafilah, Ma'an, Madaba, Jerash, Ajloun and Aqaba.

12

Residency Address in Jordan

Enter the hotel or accommodation address. The field allows 250 characters, so the hotel name, street and town fit.

max 250
13

How many nights are you spending in Jordan?

The dropdown runs from 2 to 30 nights, so the form itself never lets you claim a one-night stay. Choose the number you actually plan to spend; the exit system checks it.

14

Expected Month of Arrival

Pick the expected month in MM-YYYY form. There is no exact-date field, and the pass stays usable for 3 months after purchase.

Section 4 · Ticket and delivery
15

Ticket Type

Choose Wanderer (JD 70, 1 day in Petra), Explorer (JD 75, 2 consecutive days) or Expert (JD 80, 3 consecutive days). Petra days must be consecutive, Petra by Night is not included, and the pass scans only at the Petra Visitor's Center.

16

Number Of Tickets

Buy one pass per traveller aged 12 and over. Children under 12 enter the included sites free when accompanied by their parents.

17

Printed copy of the pass

Print the PDF the operator emails you. Show it at the visa office on arrival and at every included site, and keep the email in case the printout is lost.

§ Error decoder

What the official site says vs. what it actually means.

"Full name required"

The name field was left empty. The form allows 100 characters and the pass is checked against the passport at the visa office.

"You must enter the email"

Either email field was left empty. Both allow 100 characters and the pass is delivered to this address.

"Not Valid Email"

The address failed the form's own pattern check. Fix the syntax instead of resubmitting the same string.

"Telephone is required"

The telephone field was left empty. It allows 150 characters, country code included.

"Purpose visit is required"

No main purpose was selected in the dropdown. It is a fixed list, so free text is impossible.

"Nights is required"

No night count was selected. The dropdown starts at 2, which is also the minimum for the visa fee waiver.

§ After submit

What happens between hitting submit and getting through immigration.

  1. 01

    Confirmation screen

The official site shows a confirmation on screen. Screenshot it — that's your backup.

  2. 02

    Pass PDF arrives by email

After payment the operator emails the pass as a PDF and as an image. If nothing arrives, check the spam folder before paying again; the terms say the pass is non-refundable.

  3. 03

    At immigration

The pass arrives as a PDF and an image by email. Print it and show the printed copy at the visa office on arrival and at every included site; the QR code may not scan from a phone screen.

  4. 04

    Print the PDF

The FAQ says to show the pass printed out to the passport officer, because the QR code may be unreadable from a cell phone. The same applies at every included site.

  5. 05

The pass is not a visa

Border officers still grant the visa. The pass only removes the JD 40 single-entry fee when it was bought before arrival and the stay is at least 2 whole nights; leaving earlier means paying at the airport.

This page documents exactly those values and mounts no local validator, because most of the form is dropdown-based.

Section 1: Route and pass conditions

1. Eligibility. Check the passport first. The Interior Ministry lists 53 restricted nationalities that need prior approval, the FAQ says the pass is not available to Arabic nationality holders, and it names South Africa, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan and Vatican City as exempt from visa fees.

2. Purchase timing. The terms say buying the pass after arrival does not allow the visa exemption. Buy it before you fly.

3. Minimum stay. The waiver needs 2 whole nights (3 days). The FAQ says you do not have to prove it in advance; the exit system checks the nights and sends short stays to an office to pay.

4. Which fee is waived. Only the single-entry visa fee. The Tourism Ministry prices that visa at JD 40 for one month on arrival; the JD 60 and JD 120 embassy visas are not covered.

Section 2: Buyer details

5. Your Name. Copy it from the passport you will show at the border. 100 characters maximum; the form says Full name required when empty.

6. Your Email Address. 100 characters maximum. The pass arrives here as a PDF and an image, and the page’s own validator rejects a malformed address with Not Valid Email.

7. Re-enter Email Address. The same address again. The form compares the two fields before payment.

8. Telephone. A number that works while travelling, with the country code. 150 characters maximum; the validator says Telephone is required.

Section 3: Trip details

9. Main purpose of your visit. A fixed dropdown: Medical treatment, Wellness Spa, Walking Hiking Biking, Business, Religious, Experiencing local culture, Visit historical sites, Extreme Adventure. Empty selection returns Purpose visit is required.

10. Accommodation type. 5 Star Hotel down to 1 Star Hotel, Airbnb, or hotel and serviced apartments. The validator reads Accommodation is required.

11. City of Stay. One of 12 governorates: Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Balqa, Mafraq, Karak, Tafilah, Ma’an, Madaba, Jerash, Ajloun, Aqaba. A Petra and Wadi Rum trip usually means Ma’an.

12. Residency Address in Jordan. Hotel name, street and town. 250 characters maximum.

13. Nights in Jordan. The dropdown runs from 2 to 30, so a one-night stay cannot even be entered. Choose what you actually plan.

14. Expected Month of Arrival. A month in MM-YYYY form, for example 10-2026. There is no exact-date field.

Section 4: Ticket and delivery

15. Ticket Type. The dropdown lists Jordan Wanderer at JD 70, Jordan Explorer at JD 75 and Jordan Expert at JD 80. Petra days must be consecutive, Petra by Night is excluded, and the pass scans only at the Petra Visitor’s Center.

16. Number Of Tickets. One per traveller aged 12 and over. Children under 12 enter free with their parents.

17. Printed copy. Print the PDF. The FAQ says the QR code may be unreadable from a cell phone, at the visa office and at every site.

After submission

Payment goes through the same page. The pass then arrives by email as a PDF and an image; if nothing arrives, check the spam folder before paying again, because the terms make the pass non-refundable.

At Queen Alia Airport or Sheikh Hussein Bridge, show the printed pass at the visa office and the JD 40 fee is not charged. At Wadi Araba, the pass is what makes visa on arrival possible, and leaving without 2 nights costs JD 60. Keep the email and the printout together with the passport used in the purchase.
