Jordan · Jordan Pass · tourism pass that waives the visa fee

Jordan Pass, the official paid travel authorisation, and how to spot the middlemen who mark it up.

Most visitors enter on a single-entry visa that costs JD 40 on arrival. The official Jordan Pass waives that fee and covers Petra, if you buy it before arrival and stay 2 whole nights.

Jordan has two separate things people confuse. The visa is issued by the Interior Ministry, and the single-entry tourist visa costs JD 40 for one month on arrival at the airport. The Jordan Pass is a Ministry of Tourism package that includes over 40 sites and removes that JD 40 fee under conditions.

The pass is not a visa. Its own FAQ says so: it only waives the visa fee. You still get the visa at the border, and officers check the pass against your passport.
