§ After submit

What happens between hitting submit and getting through immigration.

  1. 01

    Confirmation screen

The official site shows a confirmation on screen. Screenshot it — that's your backup.

  2. 02

    Email arrives

Within a few minutes from a gov.in address, with the record details.

  3. 03

    At immigration

Save the digital confirmation or reference after submission. The e-Arrival Card is checked with your travel document at immigration and does not replace your visa or OCI status.

  4. 04

    No printout needed

Screenshot is fine. PDF is fine. Even the email app open on your phone is fine.

  5. 05

    If verification fails

Rare. Officer looks you up by passport number — your record is already in the system.

The e-Arrival Card is free. Foreign travellers, including OCI cardholders, submit it within 72 hours before arrival. Use the passport and visa, e-Visa, or OCI record that apply to this trip.

The checker reads the 15 rules in data/rules/india.json. It runs in your browser and sends nothing to us. Broad local length checks are not published Indian government limits. The live form decides what can be submitted.

Tool · Pre-check your fields

Before you paste anything into the official site

Type your details below. We never send them anywhere. This runs 100% in your browser. View source to verify.

Use the local date you reach India. The official form displays DD/MM/YYYY; this local checker uses YYYY-MM-DD. Submit within the 72 hours before arrival.
Enter the country or region code and a number where Indian immigration can reach you.
Select every country the official form asks you to report for the previous 6 days. Use its No Country Visited option when that is true.
Confirm only after checking that the information is true and accurate. The official warning says false information may lead to denial of entry or legal consequences.
Select the district that contains the India address. It is not always the same text as the city name.
Use an inbox you control and can open while travelling. Check the domain before submitting.
If provided, use a different reachable contact and include the country or region code.
Enter the flight that lands in India, not a booking reference. Government mission guidance lists flight details among the information travellers should have ready.
Copy the full Latin-script name from the passport used to enter India. Do not shorten middle names.
Enter the full address of the first hotel, host, or residence in India, not only a city name.
Select the nationality or region of the passport you will present at Indian immigration.
Copy the passport number from the photo page. The official form publishes no universal length limit, so this checker uses a broad alphanumeric range.
Choose the option that matches this trip, such as tourism, business, medical, conference, study, employment, official travel, or other.
Select the state or union territory for the India address. Confirm it with the hotel or host if unsure.
Use the travel permission that applies to you: the visa or e-Visa reference for a visa holder, or the OCI number for an OCI cardholder. This card does not replace that permission.

Section 1: Identity

  1. Full name as in passport: copy the complete Latin-script name from the passport used for entry. Keep every middle given name.
  2. Nationality or region: select the nationality or region printed on that passport, not a transit country or place of residence.
  3. Passport number: copy only the number from the photo page. Remove spaces and machine-readable-zone < filler marks.
  4. Visa, e-Visa, or OCI number: use the travel permission for this trip. The crawlable official web page did not display this field on July 14, 2026, but Indian government mission guidance tells travellers to have visa or OCI details ready. The field may appear by route, channel, or prefilled record.

Section 2: Visit

  1. Purpose of visit: choose the activity that matches both the trip and your travel permission, such as tourism, business, medical treatment, conference, study, or employment.
  2. Date of arrival in India: use the local date the flight reaches India. The official form displays DD/MM/YYYY; this checker uses YYYY-MM-DD. Submit within the preceding 72 hours.
  3. Flight number: enter the airline code and flight number landing in India, such as AI302, not the booking reference. The crawlable web page did not display this field at verification, but government mission materials list flight details among the information to have ready. Display can vary by route, channel, or record.
  4. Countries visited in the last 6 days: report every country requested for the previous 6 days. Choose No Country Visited only when no country applies.

Section 3: India address

  1. Address in India: enter the first full hotel, host, or residence address. A city name alone is not a complete address.
  2. State or union territory: select the jurisdiction for that address. Ask the hotel or host if the booking does not make it clear.
  3. District: select the district containing the address. District and city names are not always identical.

Section 4: Contact

  1. Email: use an inbox you control. Check spelling before submission so the confirmation does not go to the wrong address.
  2. Contact number: include the country or region code and a number where you can be reached.
  3. Emergency contact number: if supplied, use a reachable contact other than your own number and include the country or region code.

Section 5: Declaration

  1. Truth and accuracy declaration: review every answer before confirming. The official warning says false information may lead to denial of entry or legal consequences.

After submission

Save the digital confirmation or reference. The record is checked with the travel document at immigration. It does not replace a visa, e-Visa, or OCI status.
