The Bahamas C17 · field guide · varies

The fields where people get the official C17 wrong, in form order.

The public C17 page exposes the form title, seven section headings and an all-fields-mandatory notice. The portal also says passport information must be scanned before forms can be submitted. It publishes no field regexes, character limits or complete official error set. No invented pattern or error decoder is used, and no local validator is mounted.

The public C17 page exposes seven section headings and says all fields are mandatory. It publishes no field regexes, character limits or complete official error set. This guide therefore does not invent them and does not mount a local validator.

1. Confirm that C17 applies

All returning residents use C17. Visitors use it when bringing items beyond used personal belongings. Visitors carrying only used personal belongings follow the government’s oral baggage-declaration route.

2. Build the passport profile

The portal says passport information must be scanned before forms can be submitted. Use the passport carried for this arrival and compare the imported identity details with its bio page.

3. Complete passenger and travel information

Use the same passport identity throughout. Enter the actual arriving flight or vessel details. No passport-number format, name length or flight pattern is published on the public pages, so none is stated here.

4. Report baggage and goods

Complete the Baggage Information section for this arrival. Describe every item that makes C17 applicable. Do not omit separately shipped baggage or goods to avoid customs review.

5. Keep invoices

The portal can upload purchase receipts and calculate duties. Keep readable invoices and use the real purchase values. Filing the declaration is free; a calculated customs duty is separate.

6. Complete alcohol and tobacco sections

Report the actual quantities carried. This guide gives no allowance number because no current official allowance quote was captured for this batch.

7. Submit and save the QR code

After submission, save the issued QR code and keep the same passport ready. At the designated Exempt lane, scan the code and let Bahamas Customs review the electronic declaration.

8. Follow pilot instructions separately

If a selected flight provides Bahamas Digital Arrival Card pilot instructions, follow that dedicated route. The May 2026 announcement does not make BDAC a universal public form and keeps the paper process in parallel.
